History

From a 1952 borehole to today's sanatorium

The sanatorium tells its history through four dates: 1952, 1986, 1990 and 2021.

1952 — the first water

The healing water at Shohambari was found by drilling in 1952 and began to be used to treat people.

1986 and 1990 — wells and a building

New medicinal water wells were drilled in 1986, and in 1990 a new five-storey sanatorium building was completed.

2016–2021 — reconstruction

Construction and reconstruction began in December 2016. The main contractor was Obi Hayot LLC, with Bozori Hoji Sharif and Daryo-2015 as subcontractors. More than 1,000 specialists and local residents worked on the site.

2 July 2021 — the opening

The renewed sanatorium was opened by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. A memorial stone on the grounds records the date.
