How the healing water at Shohambari was found in 1952
Shohambari's medicinal water has been known since 1952, when drilling found it and treatment began at once. New wells followed in 1986, and the five-storey sanatorium building went up in 1990.

Three dates before the rebuild
The sanatorium gives three dates for its early history. In 1952 drilling at Shohambari found healing water, which began to be used to treat people. In 1986 new medicinal water wells were drilled. In 1990 a new five-storey building was completed.
Where this is
The sanatorium stands in the Hissar Valley at 1,150 metres, 24–25 kilometres north-west of Dushanbe, near the village of Shohambari by the Hissar range.
What is said about the water
The sanatorium's own description states that the water contains salts, sulfates, chlorides, hydrocarbonates and sodium, that it is 33–36 degrees, and that the first spring measures 2.0–3.5 grams per litre. No laboratory report has been published.
